Story
It was a hardened piece of clay someone left behind at the studio, with finger marks where a person grabbed hunks of it to make something. My instructor, seeing me struggle with additive, asked me to take a tool and try subtracting from a big, hard, square block. After seeing my outcome she said, 'stick with this; you tried additive, it wasn't for you. Only 1 of 5 people can work subtractive.' The first time my hands found their native process.
