Origin Story
Two friends lost a beloved Japanese maple in their yard. They cut it down, saved the wood, and gave a chunk to the artist to make something for them. The wood sat in the basement, split open, looking utterly useless. Found just enough room for a mostly spherical object inside it. Has one flat spot that looks "a little death star-ish."
